About Fynvola Foundation

The Fynvola Foundation is dedicated to providing the highest quality of nursing and palliative care for people with Learning Disabilities.  Our units offer a unique and much needed service to those who have nursing care needs and end of life care in a modern bespoke house that provides a safe, comfortable environment.

All our residents are valued as individuals and are assisted to participate in planning their own care needs and activities.  We welcome families and carers to remain part of the care and to continue to support the Fynvola Foundation.

The Lady Dane Farm House was converted into a modern 15 bedroom home that can provide continual care and stability for our residents who need palliative care.  Our bedrooms can be individually personalised so that they are familiar and comfortable and for our residents.  We also have specialist bedrooms for wheelchair users.

On site is a Sensory Garden and a garden area, an activity centre where residents can take part in fun projects and activities.  Using our own mini bus we are able to take our residents out to go shopping, use local resources such as the swimming pool visit local attractions or go to the pub for lunch.

Our staff are selected not just for their specialist skills and knowledge but because they are keen to ensure that residents live their life and experience fun and happiness for as long as possible.

Families can be assured that our residents can end their days peacefully in comfortable surroundings and secure in the knowledge that they are receiving the very best specialised nursing and palliative care.

The Fynvola Foundation is the leading charity provider of specialist nursing and palliative care for learning disabled people who are recognised as one of the most excluded and vulnerable groups in society.

Fynvola was established in 2007 by Jenny Gurney, who has been working with learning disabled adults since 1974. Jenny got involved in the cause along with a group of like-minded people all of whom have been involved with learning disabled adults.
