Activities Day Centre

Plans

The activities centre is working well and our residents take advantage of the various opportunities available. Craft, art, music, computers, lively activity and singing are all much enjoyed.

We offer the facility to learning disabled adults in the local community and hope to develop this further in the future.

Recruitment

Volunteers:  We would welcome volunteer drivers, story readers or befrienders.

Staff Bank: We are seeking to build up a Bank Staff of nurses and support workers.

For info please call the Nurse in Charge, Roz Chapman, or Marie Webb on 01795 538299 or click here to email them.

Past events for Fynvola

On 1st May and 26th June, Mr and Mrs Smith opened their beautifully tended garden and visitors enjoyed a blaze of colour and interest, with a plant stall and teas available.

On 25th June we had our Garden Party at Lady Dane House, this year included in the Faversham Music Festival.

July 6th proved a most successful and enjoyable evening of comic sketches by Dr Fox and friends, magic by Etienne Pradier and supper. King's school provided the marquee. Our Patron, Fiona Sunley kindly organised this event in her lovely garden.

On 9th July, A la Mode supported us with a fashion show in Faversham.

On 26th August, A guest lunch at Lady Dane House, including The Countess, Lady Mountbatten.

3 - 4th Sept, Fynvola Foundation had a stall at the Faversham Hop Festival.

Volunteers from Amicus Horizon have helped us on various occasions with erecting the wooden structure and planting out the sensory garden.

On 24th Sept, a Zambathon (timed, energetic dance) was organised by the family of a resident.

On 25th Sept, The Kent Painters Association held an exhibition with part of the proceeds for Fynvola.

On 7th October, The Haverfordwest Ladies Choir sang at the Gospel Mission Hall, in Faversham.

Our grateful thanks to all concerned.

Everyone's efforts over the last few months have been significant in helping us develop our facilities for the residents.

With this support, the following developments are in place:

  • Stainless steel worktops in the kitchen
  • Computer equipment for residents
  • A sluice room to enhance essential hygiene within the house
  • More rooms to have an overhead hoist fitted

Help us to raise funds

We are currently fundraising to offer a supplementary programme of training for staff and for a Sensory Room, a building which will house an area of quiet, and gently healing therapies.
